Who we are
A disc center for people who are wary of chiropractors
Many people picture quick twisting or "popping." Spinal decompression is a different experience: you lie on a padded table while it applies a slow, steady stretch that then eases off, over and over.
It's not right for everyone, and it's not a promise of results. Research on decompression is still limited, and people respond differently. That's why every plan starts with an honest consultation and exam.

Disc-related conditions we evaluate for decompression
Spinal decompression is mainly used for pain linked to the discs between the vertebrae. These are the conditions people most often ask about.
Herniated disc
When the soft center of a disc pushes out through its outer ring and irritates nearby nerves.
Bulging disc
A disc that has spread out past its normal edge, sometimes pressing on a nerve.
Sciatica
Pain, tingling or numbness that travels from the low back into the buttock and leg.
Pinched nerve
A nerve root near the spine that is pressed or irritated, causing pain, numbness or weakness in an arm or leg.
Degenerative disc disease
Age-related wear of the discs that can lead to stiffness and pain.
Spinal stenosis
Narrowing inside the spine. Whether decompression helps is debated, so a consult decides.
Neck pain
Disc-related neck pain, including pain that spreads into the shoulder or arm.
Pain after back surgery
Ongoing back or leg pain after spine surgery, and when decompression may or may not be considered.
Lower back pain
The most common kind of back pain: what usually helps, and when a disc may be involved.
Sciatica that is worse when sitting or driving
Why sitting can aggravate disc and nerve pain, and practical changes for desk and car.
Leg numbness and tingling
Pins and needles from the back: common causes and the warning signs that need care now.
Arm pain and numbness from the neck
Cervical radiculopathy: pain, tingling or weakness that travels from the neck into the arm.
Annular tear
A tear in the outer ring of a disc. Often found on MRI, often painless, sometimes not.
Facet joint pain
Pain from the small joints at the back of the spine. Usually not a disc problem, and here is why that matters.
Spondylolisthesis
A slipped vertebra. Unstable slips rule decompression out, so this one needs a careful exam.
Back pain after 60
Worn discs, stenosis and bone health in older adults, and the safety checks that come first.
Back pain after a car accident
Get checked first. Then how Utah PIP coverage works and where decompression may fit later.
Back pain from lifting or work
Strain or disc? Safer lifting, returning to work, and when to get it checked.
The treatment
A disc center, not a quick adjustment
Slow, motorized and adjustable. The stretch can be eased or stopped if anything feels uncomfortable.
A harness lets the table apply a gentle pull along the spine, hold it, then ease off in repeated cycles. Many people read, listen to something or simply rest during a session.
Sessions take about 30 to 45 minutes. You stay fully clothed, and there's no quick twisting or "popping."
