When is the office open?
Two windows a day, Monday through Thursday, and mornings only on Friday. It's closed midday and on weekends.
| Day | Morning | Late afternoon |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm | 3:00 – 6:00 pm |
| Tuesday | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm | 3:00 – 6:00 pm |
| Wednesday | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm | 3:00 – 6:00 pm |
| Thursday | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm | 3:00 – 6:00 pm |
| Friday | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm | Closed |
Sessions take about 30 to 45 minutes on the table, so a visit fits inside either window. Your first visit, the consultation, takes longer.
How many visits would I be scheduling?
The clinic's typical plan is about 20 visits over 6 weeks, front-loaded and then tapering.
- First two weeks: a visit every office day.
- Next two weeks: three visits a week.
- Last two weeks: two visits a week.
The exact number is set after your exam and may be different for you. See how many sessions for the reasoning.
How do people from Salem usually fit it in?
By picking one window and sticking with it, or by matching visits to days they're already heading north.
- Commuters heading north toward Provo or beyond: a morning visit before work or a late-afternoon visit on the way home often works best.
- Parents with school pickups: the 9:00 am start leaves time after drop-off.
- Shift workers and retirees: midweek mornings tend to be the easiest to keep consistent.
- Fridays: mornings only. If Friday mornings are hard, ask how the first two weeks can be arranged.
Long drives and long sitting can aggravate some disc pain. If you notice that, stand and walk for a minute before and after the drive, and tell the doctor. Tips for sitting with a herniated disc.
Is it worth the trip for my kind of pain?
Only if decompression is a reasonable option for your problem, which the free consultation is meant to sort out.
Decompression is mainly considered for disc-related back, leg or neck pain without warning signs. It isn't right for everyone, research on it is limited, and results vary. It's usually not done for people who are pregnant, have hardware or a recent fusion in the spine, a recent fracture, or significant osteoporosis. Who is and isn't a candidate · Does it work?
What should I do before calling?
Look at your calendar for the next six weeks, and gather any imaging you've had.
- Note which window, morning or late afternoon, you could realistically keep.
- Find your MRI or X-ray report if you have one. The clinic offers a free MRI review.
- Write down what you've already tried, such as physical therapy, injections or medication.
